Christmas Cards

Well, not a whole lot has been going on here lately.  Activity has been limited, but I'm trying to make good use of my time if/when I start feeling better.

Anyway, here are some cards I have made so far:

The Power of Prayer

The Power of Prayer

Good morning! The power of prayer can be an amazing thing! My father-in-law was taken into the hospital for a collapsed lung. He has OCPD (lung condition where patient has problems breathing). It seems a hole formed in his lung and all the air he was breathing was escaping out of that lung & filling his chest cavity with air. They put a hose through his ribs to suck out the air. At the very least, they were expecting to pull the hose by no earlier than this Friday. Well, they did a cat scan and it revealed the hole is just about all healed and they are going to take the tube out by today as it should be all the way healed. That's 4 days sooner than they had anticipated!!!

When we got the news about Dad, I quickly turned to those I love and care for and asked for their prayers. I asked God to make my dad comfortable and to help my mom, mother-in-law feel un alone and unafraid during this trying time.

Well obviously there were a lot of prayers because both my Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law are doing just fine!

I am dedicating these cards to the power of prayer and I hope who-ever ends up with them will experience the same kind of blessings, serenity, and comfort that I felt when I was making them!

Have a beautiful day!

Happy August!

My! I must admit it has been quite a while since I've done anything with my blog over the last couple of months or so. I have been side-tracked with the pain and depression to where I didn't really want to or care to focus my attention anywhere else. I'm starting to come out of it though and I've actually made a few cards recently (I can't believe it's taken the whole day to work on 2 cards!) I used to whip them out like they were an assembly line with the ideas coming to me just as fast. I've been having to try harder here lately to kick my creative bone into gear. Slow & rusty, but we're getting there. I'm not going to let it get me down.

Most of these cards were CASE'D from either websites online or tutorials. I've added my own individual flair and touches to them

Here is the link to access my August Album on Facebook

More of the cards I've made so far this month can be located on my Facebook album for August 2010. Hope to see you there! Please feel free to give me your feedback to I can learn & grow. ")

Blessings;

Holy Cow!

Well, it's definitely been a while. I'm still in a lot of pain and have not been able to make any cards, which is terribly frustrating for me, so i figured I would get out the camera and take some snap shots of cards I have made, but was too busy to take pictures. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

Blessings;

Greetings! Updating Blog

Well, it certainly has been a while since I've added anything to my blog. There is about as much dust on my blog as there is on my scrapbooking supplies! LOL Anyway, I was down for about 3 weeks with my back and hip and on top of that I had the creeping crud that was going around attacking people. Really wish I would have gotten the flu shot this year. Anywho.... Here are some cards I have been working on slowly but surely. Depending on my pain levels, I would start working on one and I would have to stop and go back when I could. You couldnt imagine how much these cards changed from my original plans. Once I came back to work on them, I would get a new or different idea how I wanted them to turn out so I would go with it. If you have any questions or comments about any of them, please let me know!

Finding my Happy Place

With the way I have been hurting lately, it's a bit hard to find my Happy Place, but that doesn't mean I should give up. I haven't been able to do a lot of the things I've wanted to because of the pain, so I'm just doing a little bit at a time. There have been several times where I have to stop & go sit down because I'm hurting and then when I feel better I come back to start working on my project again & for the life of me I can't remember what I was going to do, so then I start working with what is in front of me. Usually half way through once things are adhered and basically put together, it dawns on me where I was wanting to go with the project - which leads to another start for the next one I work on. lol

You have been given a small glimpse of what it's like to be in my head! LOL

I couldn't wait to use my new latice embossing folder, so when it was delivered I got busy with it. I ordered it over a month ago but it's been on back order. With the above project I also used my Extra Large 2-step Bird Punch, Tiny Tag punch, an eyelet, thread, and a ribbon. If you look close enough to the birds' body, you'll see I stamped a flourish image with versamark to leave a watermark of the design on the body of the bird.
More Birds! The stamp set used for this project is Watercolor Trio, the sentiment is also included in that set as well. I have been playing around with distressing, so be prepared to see more of that included with my projects in the future.

For this card I used my crimper to crimp the matt and naked chipboard as an embellishment. The stamp set's used for this project: Watercolor Trio (are we sensing a trend here?) and the sentiment is from the Hostess set (that you can earn free) called Picture This. I wrapped ribbon around the end & tied that with linen thread and added a monogram letter and stuck a large brad in the other end. I used Stampin' Write markers on the sentiment and the flower image so they would turn out multi-color instead of using an ink pad to make the whole image one solid color.

Anyway, nothing fancy - just really basic easy projects.

Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings;

Just more Cards

Hey there; Haven't been feeling very well lately, but thought I would at least upload the cards I've been working on. Both of the grandbabies got the crud, so we have been worried about them. Dr is still in the process of trying to get my pain levels under control - can't wait until we find the right combination. I am so thankful for my family. They have been so patient and understanding. I don't deserve them.
