Blue Friends

This is a CASE from Sandy Mathis.  I love these colors together. Vintage Vogue was used to create this card.  I really like the layout of this card.  I think I'm going to come up with some colors that are outside of my comfort zone and create something similar to this.

Grateful for You

Greetings!
This card was inspired in part by my daughter and, for the life of me, I cannot remember the creative person who originally created this card.
I was feeling in a funk, totally uninspired and my daughter brought a challenge to me that I just couldn’t refuse.  She was to surf online via Pinterest and find a card that she wanted me to create.  It would then be my job to re-create the card.
Everything pretty much matches, with the exception of the sentiment and the shape of the sentiment.
Hey, at least it kept me busy for a while.  Smile

Masculine Congratulations

Good evening everyone!  I went through and did an inventory of cards I have accumulated and have come to the realization that I am in need of masculine cards and congratulations cards.  So, why not combine them?  I set out with the daunting task of coming up with one.

I’m pretty pleased with how the bear turned out.  I stamped the image with Versa Mark and dusted Perfect Pearls from Ranger of it.  The result, a holographic image that changes color / density, depending on what angle you look at it.  I included several shots at different angles to show the shimmer.

This card was created using the following supplies:
Masculine Congratulations
  • Wildlife Reserve stamp set
  • Well Scripted stamp set
  • Square Lattice embossing folder
  • Circle Scissor
  • Twill Tape from my stash
  • Perfect Pearls from Ranger

So Many Smiles in Pearl

I made my own mother of pearl cardstock (lavender oval).  I used:  Frost White Shimmer Pain, and pounced it on Whisper White cardstock with wadded up plastic wrap.  Once the shimmer paint dried, I went over the  cardstock with my brayer using Whisteria Wonder ink. It's beautiful to look at!

Thanks for stopping by folks!

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are the most difficult for me to make.  I hate the thought that the recipient of this kind of card will most likely not feel any joy or anything special from being the recipient of this type of card.  I try to make sure they are soft and easy to look at.  I try to make sure they are soothing to the eye at least.

This card was created with the following Stampin' Up! items:
  • Stamps
    • Brighter Tomorrow
    • Charming
  • Punch/s
    • Itty Bitty Shapes
    • Modern Label
  • Big Shot
    • Nesties Scalloped Oval
    • Square Lattice Embossing Folder
  • Misc
    • Brads

Pheasant Birthday

Good afternoon everyone!  Today is such a beautiful day!  The sun is shining, it's warm outside, yet there is a cool breeze lazily drifting through my craft room.  This puts me in a perfect mood to create.  I just wish I felt more up to it.  Luckily I have been blessed by a caring Dr. who, like me, is bound & determined to help add some value to my life by easing some of my pain.  I understand it's going to take patience until we find the right combination but days like today can be quite frustrating.

So, it's times like this I spend updating my website.  Sometimes I get to creating so much and the Mojo hits me that I don't want to stop creating.

This card I made for my BFF's Nephew who is a little red neck and she asked for something "country".

This card was made with the following Stampin' Up! supplies:
  • Stamps
    • Autumn Days
    • Best Dad Ever
  • Punches
    • Square Punch (Sentiment ends)
  • Big Shot
    • Framelits Labels Collection Dies
    • Square Lattice Embossing Folder
  • Misc
    • Brads
    • Stampin' Write Markers
    • Dimensionals
    • Sponge Dauber
  • Colors
    • Pool Party
    • Basic Grey
    • Crumb Cake
    • Whisper White
Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope you enjoy your fun in the sun!

Daisies for Mom

Greetings Stampers!

Today's card is a Mother's Day card.  The Butterfly design was inspired by a woman named Tammy.  Please forgive me I've lost her blog address or I would give her the credit she very much deserves for coming up with this idea.  I really wish I could find her site again so you can review her version of the technique.

The butterfly in the center was stenciled with a dauber and 3 different colors:  Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, & Pumpkin Pie.

Using a clear plastic sheet I cut out a butterfly shape from the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies die.  Using the sheet with the butterfly cut in the center I adhered some temporary adhesive to Whisper White cardstock and stenciled the inside of the butterfly image and then stamped the Upsy Daisy image in black.

The following Supplies were used to create this card:

  • Stamps:
    • Upsy Daisy
  • Punches:
    • Boho Blossoms
    • Itty Bitty Bits
    • Modern Label
  • Big Shot:
    • Bigz Beautiful Butterflies
    • Framelits Labels
    • Movers and Shapers Modern Label
    • Square Lattice Embossing Folder
    • Beautiful Wings Embosslit
  • Misc:
    • Halfback Pearl
    • Spritzer
    • Stampin' Write Markers

So, there you have it!  Please let me know if you have any questions or comments!

Happy Birthday in Stitches

I just finished this card and figured I would take the picture and get it loaded on the website before I started another card (I have a habit of putting it off and then I'm left holding a stack full of cards that I have to load and document).

The carnation used on this card is home made.  Click here for my tutorial for making these flowers.  They are simple to do and look quite real when they are finished.

The background is some patchwork quilting I did, at least I think that's what it is.  Anyway, I had a bunch of scraps of Stampin' Up!'s designer paper and because it's so beautiful AND I hate to waste even the tiniest bit of paper I figured this would be a perfect time to use it.  Once the whole sheet of cardstock was full with the pieces fitting together, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Bigz Top Note die.  Once I had the patchwork shape of the top note, I ran it through the Big Shot again in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder this time.  There, that definitely gave it a unique look & texture.

I had some misc clear stamps I used for the Postal H in the upper right hand corner and the Cross Stitched Happy Birthday sentiment in the lower right hand corner.  Once I stamped the sentiment I took about four different colors:  Concord Crush, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, & Wild Wasabi and their matching sponge daubers and did some pouncing, which gave it a cool effect.

Another step, not sure why I did it, but I guess it doesn't look too bad is a button with silver DMC floss strung through holding an apple shaped charm.

So, with the name of this post, were you expecting a funny card?  Not quite, but it is fitting considering the sentiment is to look like it was cross stitched & embroidered, hence the "stitch" in the title.  I don't usually use stamp set's from other manufacturers but with the quilt theme, I wanted the sentiment to blend smoothly with everything else - yeah?

24-7

Here is a feminine card I worked on last night.  I actually didn't know what kind of card it was going to be until I had it decorated and I was looking for a sentiment that I felt would fit well.  It just so happened it was a small circle that I could use with my Hodgepodge hardware.

A lot of items were used on this card, though I was trying to make it not look too busy.

Stamp Sets Used:  Baby Blossoms and Hodgepodge Happiness
Cardstock used:  Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Designer Paper, and Certainly Celery
Ink Used:Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzaz, Blushing Bride, Rose Red
Other Ites used:  Stamp-a-ma-jig, seam binding, HodgePodge Hardware, Brads, Dimensionals

Enjoy the Journey

Here's a card I finally made, Bill told me to try making something, it might pick up / lift my mood a little bit.  My heart still feels heavy but at least I feel productive anyway.

The colors I used to water color the flowers from the Fast & Fabulous stamp set are Poppy Parade and Old Olive.  The sentiment is from It's the Thought stamp set and the "together" is a chipboard sentiment that I had in my stash.  The card is inspired by Vicki B.
