Just for You

This card is inspired by a new paper crafter I was fortunate enough to come across – Julie B. from Just Julie B’s Stampin’ Space.  I was so impressed with her creativity, I actually checked out just about every post she’s posted since 2008, and let me tell you, she is a frequent poster!  Any time I’m running low on Mojo, her blog is where I can go to get some instant inspiration!

Floral Get Well Soon

A bright & cheerful get well soon card.  Hopefully will brighten someone’s day.  Even better, hopefully I won’t have to give someone a card like this.

Pearls & Bows

I'm not really sure what I was going for this time around, I went into my craft room and just started putting things together.  With my "Mojo" difficulties here lately, I was welcoming any kind of inspiration so when ideas started popping into my head I didn't question them.  (Don't you hate months like that?!)  lol

The picture doesn't show it, but the butterflies are covered by Dazzling Diamonds to add a delicate sparkle to the card.

Goodies used to create this card.
  • You are Loved stamp set
  • Cutter Kit - for distressing the mat under the sentiment
  • Dazzling Diamonds
  • Glue Pen
  • Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
  • Big Shot
  • Halfback Pearls
  • Beads from the Pretties Kit (now discontinued but you can use an combination of beads and or charms)
  • Ribbon 1 & 1/4 Grosgrain and 1/4 sheer
  • Thread - for bunching the grosgrain ribbon and stringing the pearls and crystal charm
  • Ticket Corner Punch
  • Glue Dots for adhering the sheer bow
Helpful Tip:  If you do not have a cutter kit or distresser, but would still like to get the same results, you can (carefully) run the blade of your scissors along the edge of your paper to get a raised distressed edge effect.

Another Helpful Tip:  Would you like to add flock to your supply stash AND in any Stampin' Up! color to coordinate with your project?  The Cutter Kit works so well that when distressing you get shaved cardstock, just like flock.  Simply save your trimmings when distressing your cardstock to have for later or shave it as you need it!  Please be sure to let me know if you have any questions on how to do this!  ")

Thank you so much for stopping by & God bless!

Mr. Blue Bird

Hello Stampers!

This was a quick and easy card to create.

"How did she punch out and color in that perfect looking bird" you must be asking?!  Well, with Stampin Up it's easy!  The stamp set is Language of Friendship.  It comes with a stamp that perfectly matches the punches from the Bird Builder punch!  All you need to do is decide what color you want your bird to be, ink your stamp, stamp the image, line up the image in your Bird Builder paper punch and squeeze!  Out pops a perfectly colored & detailed bird!  (with the stamp set are also two little bird feet in case you want your bird to be standing instead of sitting on a branch)  There is also a flower set that perfectly matches the Boho Blossoms 3 flower punch as well so the flowers you punch out will have more definition and design than just the punched image.  There is also a sentiment included with this stamp set as well.

So, what else was used to create his card?:
  • Framed Tulips embossing folder
  • Ribbon
I didn't want a sentiment on this card because I'm not sure what it's going to be just yet.  I have a lot of cards made up in advance, and have decided to just create the card and add the sentiment later in case I start to run out of Thank You cards, I can throw a Thank You sentiment on this baby and send off!

Have a great day!

Vintage Fun with Strength & Hope and Embossing

Having fun playing Vintage with new paper & stamps!  ;)

These two cards were inspired by Sandi Maciver.  She is another one of my favorite paper crafting Guru's.  The lady knows her paper AND she's funny.  You should read her posts, she is constantly cracking herself up!  Just adds to her charm.  She is also an Oregonian!  Go Oregon!

So, here are the two vintage cards I created.  One is done in Cherry Cobbler & Crumb Cake (both sound yummy don't they?!) and the other one is Baja Breeze & Crumb Cake.

I hope you enjoy!

Hope you enjoy!

Things are not yet resolved.  Please continue to pray for my family and I.  If you are not familiar with the story, please catch up here.

On my Mind

Please forgive the blurriness of this picture.  Because I am notorious for adding embellishments no matter the size to my cards, the embellishments that are thick will make a blurry image on the card when I scan it.  There are a lot of layers to this card, especially the 1 1/2 inch grosgrain ribbon I used to make a faux bow.

I was thinking about my oldest daughter, how we used to be best friends and shared hopes and dreams with each other.  Her boyfriend has since gotten into her head to ensure that she is segregating herself away from her family members, not sure why at this point but I'm sure his motives will be made clear in time.  My daughter is very strong willed and she will only be controlled as much as she will allow.  When she wises up and see's that she has hurt her family and has abandoned them, she'll come around.  The hardest part of all this, we used to call each other every day and just shoot the breeze, talk about our day.

She would tell me how Bug was doing and little cute things he started doing.  He's now 3 and learning and developing very quickly.  She lives in the next town over and she knows how important my grand son is to me, so she would make every attempt to make sure I knew how Bug was developing.  I didn't always just talk to my daughter when we were on the phone, I would talk to Bug as well.  I would take great joy at the excitement in his voice when he would tell me about something he saw or something he had done.  My heart is definitely full of happy when I hear his sweet little voice.  He would know the conversation was about over when I would start telling him "I love you".  No matter how hard I would try, I couldn't pull the words out of him because he knew that once he said those words that not long after Nana was going to hang up and he wanted to keep me on the phone.  He's always been sharp.  Common sense sharp.  The kind of sharp that he can't be taught.  Either someone has common sense or they don't.  Well he does.  As long as he's taken care of and is in the right environment, he's going to go far in life.

Oh yeah, I'm rattling on and I was actually posting a card!  lol

I stamped the rose image in black on the scalloped oval mat.  I stamped the rose image again on a piece of watercolor paper.  I used a Sakura Gelly Roll stardust pen and my Aqua-painter to watercolor the glitter and to shadow more area's on the image.  It turned out really beautiful!

I embossed the cardstock with Framed Tulips, cut out a smaller piece of Specialty Paper to fit inside the framed tulips.  for the tiny tags, I used stampin write markers to get the different colors on the stamp.

Stamp Set's used:  Abundant Joy, Upsy Daisy, and Tiny Tags
Colors used:  Cardstock:  Certainly Celery & Whisper White.  Ink:  Basic Black, Riding Hood Red, Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy, and Poppy Parade.
Extra's:  Ribbon is Riding Hood Red, Bling Brad holding the Faux Bow together is from the Pretties Kit.
