Dare to Dream - CASE

Greetings!

My daughter absolutely loves this card.  She’s getting to where she likes anything that’s distressed that looks vintage-y.  She used to give me a hard time about all the “old lady cards” I make.  I’m not sure what changed her mind, but we’ve gotten quite close lately and I think she is appreciating the amount of time and effort I put into the cards I create.  This card was CASE'd from Selene Kempton.  I ran across her version on Pinterest.  I'm glad I found it.

This was created using SU!’s Loving Thoughts stamp set and a multitude of Framelits and edgelits.

Greenhouse Garden Thanks so Much

Greetings!

It has been so hot here the last couple of days.  We’re in the triple digits and it's been so hot that there have been lightning & thunder storms in the valley.  Yesterday it finally happened.  The desert area where we do a lot of fishing and hunting had sparked on fire.  The Owyhee Mountains is a gorgeous place, but high risk for fires because of the dryness and the heat.  There are still fires up there raging out of control.  Smoke is a haze all over the valley floor and access to the area has been closed off and residents have been evacuated.  It’s getting hotter and hotter, so I’m staying inside for the remainder of the day.  We have air conditioning, I’m going to enjoy it by golly!

My hubby & I picked up a mountain bike at a yard sale a few days ago, my grandson stays with us more than he’s at home and he just learned how to ride his bike.  I figure we could go for rides together AND I could get in shape, what a thought, huh?!  Smile

Anyway, I’ve been surfing around on Pinterest, spending most of my online time there and it dawned on me that I had a few pics of my own sitting around that needed to be uploaded.
Stamp set is SU!’s Greenhouse Garden.

Your on My Mind–CASE

Greetings everyone!
Whew!  Boy did a lot of supplies go into creating this card.  I first saw a card done by my new Demonstrator, Patty Bennett. that she did during one of her classes (I SO wished we were closer so I could attend her classes)  Sad smile
Anyway, her card was so beautiful and the technique caught my eye in piqued my interest.  I could have used different supplies, but the way her card was just perfect the way it was..
On dark colored cardstock, stamp images and emboss with white embossing powder.  Color the images with Whisper White Craft ink with your Aqua Painter or a paint brush.  Once that dries color the images with your chosen colors.  It looks really cool.  I’m glad Patty shared this technique.
Supplies used for creating this card are:
Candy Dots - Brights, Embossing Folder - Fancy Fan, Embosslit Beautiful Wings, Framelits - Apothecary Accents, Framelits - Secret Garden, Paper Piercing Pack - Essentials, Papillon Potpourri, Punch - Elegant Butterfly, Secret Garden, Simply Pressed Clay Flower, Upsy Daisy,

Scenic Congratulations

Greetings!
I was in the mood to do some sponging, so I figured I would use a scenic image to satiate my appetite to sponge.  I am so glad Soft Sky has been re-included in Stampin’ Up!s current color line-up.  It covers things that Bashful Blue just couldn’t do.
The two stamp set’s I used on this card are from Gina K Designs:  Inside and Out and Life is Good.
The Life is Good set has great masculine images:  a train, cabin, mountain scenery, Deer, etc…

Grateful for You

Greetings!
This card was inspired in part by my daughter and, for the life of me, I cannot remember the creative person who originally created this card.
I was feeling in a funk, totally uninspired and my daughter brought a challenge to me that I just couldn’t refuse.  She was to surf online via Pinterest and find a card that she wanted me to create.  It would then be my job to re-create the card.
Everything pretty much matches, with the exception of the sentiment and the shape of the sentiment.
Hey, at least it kept me busy for a while.  Smile

Birthday Scoops!

Greetings!
I was in the mood to create something fun for a change.  I couldn’t wait to use the new in colors…. they are so yummy!
The stamp sets I used are Sweet Scoops, Itty Bitty Bits, and Hearts a Flutter.
I used the brayer on the cardstock.  It was all white and had embossed lines that looked perfectly like a waffle cone, so I brayered with Baked Brown Sugar and wiped off the ink from the embossed area with a paper towel, which revealed a version of a waffle cone.
New in-colors used on the ice cream cone are Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, and Baked Brown Sugar for the cone.

Wonderful You

I love Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride together, so thought this was a great excuse to put something together with those colors.  I used one of the die’s from my Apothecary Accents collection, but I didn’t cut the cardstock.  Instead, I stenciled the inside of the die and pierced using the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.  The sentiment is from Loving Thoughts.

Lattice Sympathy Card

Greetings!
This is one card that I hope stays in my collection for a long long time.  Even though some may think it’s pretty, it still represents someone’s pain and heartache.  To know that the life has changed and will never be the same for the recipient of this card.  It breaks my heart just to think about.  I always avoid making Sympathy cards and wouldn’t have made it except I asked my daughter what kind of card I should make, she recommended Sympathy.  I looked at my stash and realized she was right, that I had very few Sympathy cards remaining.  So, here we are.

This card was made with Stampin’ Up!s Elements of Style and Thanks for Caring stamp set’s.

Up, Up, and Away Thank You–CASE

Greetings!

I fell in love with this card the very moment I saw it on Pinterest.  I loved the soft colors and the whole cartoon-y look of it.  I just absolutely LOVE the new in Colors Stampin’ Up! has come up with:
Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, and Baked Brown Sugar.
With colors that beautiful, there are are going to be so many possibilities!  I can’t wait to get started.  The only problem…. what colors am I going to use first?!

For my first card, I chose Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding… along with ever faithful So Saffron and Whisper White.

Up Up & Away Thank You

Angel in Faux Etched Glass–Thank You Card–Dynamic Duo Challenge

Greetings!  I enjoyed making the faux etched glass so much on the last card, I thought I would do it again.  This time I did it on a tiny little Beveled Windowpane from Stampin’ Up!  They are long since discontinued and I use them VERY sparingly.
This is also a Dynamic Duo color challenge.  Hmmm Raspberry Ripple and Wysteria Wonder… together… on one card…. I should have had more faith.  While I putting this card together, I wasn’t very confident with how this would turn out.  I think it’ll work!  There are a lot of wonderful and creative examples of using the color combination.  Please be sure to stop by Dynamic Duo’s and take the challenge yourself!

Thanks so Much with Daisy

Greetings!
Here I am again, playing with Midnight Muse and Pool Party!  This card has been sitting on my work station for over a month…  I play around with things, add them, take them away, change them around… but I keep coming back to a simple layout.  I think it’s time to just slap my label on the back and snap it’s picture!
Thanks so Much

Grateful in Muse–Faux Etched Glass

Greetings!
Here’s something I haven’t done in a long long time; faux etched glass.  I simply took a clear plastic wafer chip that came in a variety of shapes and sizes, sanded the surface until the complete area was sanded and frosty looking.  I stamped an image on the surface with Versamark, and then covered with clear embossing powder.  Hit the heat tool to the powder and wha la!  Behold, a frosted butterfly!  This is so easy to do and makes an interesting focal point to your card or scrapbook page.
Grateful in Muse
And here are some close-ups.  I hope you can see how beautiful this can be.  To enhance the image, I layered a piece of designer paper under the wafer and matted it with Midnight Muse.Grateful in Muse (1)

Just for You

This card is inspired by a new paper crafter I was fortunate enough to come across – Julie B. from Just Julie B’s Stampin’ Space.  I was so impressed with her creativity, I actually checked out just about every post she’s posted since 2008, and let me tell you, she is a frequent poster!  Any time I’m running low on Mojo, her blog is where I can go to get some instant inspiration!
