Birthday Wish for Daughter–Seize the Birthday Sketch Challenge

Greetings!  Here is a Birthday card I made for my daughter.  I can’t believe she’s 22!  This same daughter had me order 250.00 in Stampin’ Up! stuff for my Birthday and for a Mothers Day gift.  I’ve had a happy time playing with all my new goodies.

Cherish–Freshly Made Sketches Challenge

Greetings!  Here is my Freshly Made Sketch Challenge entry.
undefined
I used the stamps from my stash that are non Stampin’ Up!, but anytime I see butterfly images, especially with a vintage-type feel, I have to get them.  These stamps were actually on sale at JoAnns.  They were 97cents.  Regularly 9$ for the stamp set, they were marked down to 2.99, and then I guess there was an additional discount on top of that.  At the register they rang up as 97 cents.  Feeling guilty at already getting them at the 2.95 price, I questioned the cashier and she went back and looked to make sure.  Sure enough, all the stamp sets I got were all 97 cents.  My first instinct was to go back & get more of the stamp set’s, but I made a promise to myself that I would only purchase items that I know I would definitely use for sure.
The brads at the bottom are created with my Build-a-Brad kit with the stamped image from my Itty Bitty Bits stamp set.

Hearts from the Heart

When I first started out with this card, I was CASE’ing it from Kathy Black's project, but once I got started, it took on a life and identity all it’s own.  Looking at the two, you would never guess they were supposed to be alike.

There are hearts everywhere on this card from the embossed hearts on the base, the little hearts on the white piece, the heart Build-a-Brads, and the double combined hearts.  The sentiment is embossed in red embossing powder.  I hope you like it!

Nautical Birthday - Masculine - Sketch Challenge

Here is another sketch challenge from Sunny Challenges & Creations.

I'm keeping up with my challenge of creating Masculine cards to replenish my stock.  Here is the sketch...
And here is my interpretation of the sketch:

I did something a bit different around the sentiment.  Instead of rolling out a framelits shape and stamp the sentiment on that, I took a Framelits shape, adhered temporary snail to the back, positioned it where I wanted it on Very Vanilla cardstock and with my dauber shaded Crumb Cake all over and then Soft Suede just around the edges.  I then stamped images from The Open Sea stamp set all over.  Once I figured I had done enough, I removed the Framelits shape, which left the shape, but all clean of any ink, but you can still see the impression.  I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment and called it good.  I'm not sure what the technique is called, I guess it would be a reverse mask?

This card was created with the following Stampin' Up! Supplies:

  • Stamps:
    • The Open Sea

Black & White Blossom CASE

This card was inspired by an amazingly wonderful Stamper whom I look up to creatively, Connie Babbert.  As a matter of fact, this turned out to be more of a CASE than an inspiration once I got to going.

I wanted to leave this card without a sentiment until the time comes that I need to give someone this card and then I'll slap on a sentiment before sealing it in an envelope.

Too many times I have looked through my cards, looking for one for a particular event and lo & behold I find the perfect card but it's got the wrong sentiment.  sigh.... what to do, what to do.

Until I get any better idea's, I'm leaving the sentiment / greeting off of some of the cards I build.

This card was created with the following Stampin' Up! Supplies:
  • Stamps:
    • Mixed Bunch
  • Punches:
    • Blossom
    • Circle
    • Scallop Trim Border
  • Big Shot:
    • Bigz Perfect Pennants
    • CB Vines embossing folder
  • Misc Items:
    • Build a Brad
    • Dimensionals
    • Black Embossing Powder
    • Embossing Buddy
    • Powder Pal
    • Halfback Pearls
    • SU Designer Paper
    • Satin Ribbon
  • Colors Used:
    • Whisper White
    • Basic Black

Well, I'm off to make another card.  I tell ya, it feels soooooo good to have my Mojo back!
