Always There–Dynamic Duos and Freshly Made Sketch Challenges

Good morning everyone!  I had a rough night last night, so the last time I got up, at 6, I figured what the heck, I’ll just stay up and have some time to myself.  Our grandkids and their mom are currently living with us and everytime I head to my craft room, my 4, almost 5 year old grandson makes a bee line to join me because he “has to help Nana”.  sigh.  I love his “help”, there are sometimes moments when I would really like to be by myself, so I can think & concentrate.

Happy Bird Day!

Here is a masculine Birthday card I created for a man.  There is nothing frilly about this card.  lol

Stamp set’s used:  In Wilderness & Messages for Mom for the sentiment. 

Colors used:  Basic Black, Basic Grey, & Real Red.

I hope your weekend went well!  It's too bad it had to draw to a close, but all good things must end, right?!

To get an aged / vintage feel, I took the top stamped layer, wadded it up in a ball several times, straightened it out flat with a bone folder, and lightly ran my Crumb Cake ink pad across so only the raised part of the paper would pick up the ink.  (this can be easy to over-do so be careful when doing this).  

The anchors on the base layer was stamped with Craft Whisper White.  If you don't have Whisper White to stand out from the dark background, you can always emboss with white embossing powder.
