Thanks in Butterflies

Thanks in Butterflies. I am so excited and I can't sleep. My long awaited Big Shot Switch Plus (the beautiful sorbet color in light orangish and pink) should be delivered tomorrow. 

Since my wrists and hands have considerably gone down hill an electric version of my Big Shot is going to be the perfect alternative. And since I can use all the cutting pads from my original Big Shot, that's going to be a plus!

Balloon Boquet

This Thank You card has many different aspects to it: embossed lines as the base panel,  half back pearls on the sentiment and base panels, a ribbon tied in a bow to adorn the balloon ties, and buttons to complete the balloons.  I think that's it.

Yeah, it's been a While...

Wow!  Where had the time gone?!  Well, since my last post 4 years ago, I got an area to set up my craft supplies.
So, here's what I've come up with so far...

This was from a sketch,  but for the life of me I can't find the sketch to post with my card. Sigh...

I used 2 different sized butterfly punches to create the butterfly: The Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Brights Candy Dots, designer velum, and Petite Pairs stamp set. I only added adhesive to one side of the butterfly and bent it in half to give it more of a 3rd dimensional quality so it looks like it's getting ready to fly off the card.

Thanks Mom

This is a card that Autumn, my little neighbor girl wanted to help make for her mom.

Here is the sweet message Autumn asked me to write in the card to her mom.  I felt fortunate to be involved in such a touching message that came from the heart of a 7 year old little girl.  

Here is Autumn.  She is VERY active and always on the go.  I had a hard time trying to corral her to sit somewhat still to pose for the picture!  :)

So Grateful CASE

This card is a CASE from my new favorite paper crafter that I was lucky enough to stumble across. You know how I'm always questing for inspiration?   Well,  have I got a treat for you!   I found her site from her card that someone else had posted from Pinterest.  Before I knew it I was pining away and craving more inspiration I kept browsing get site and never disappointed.

Her name is Laura Lipe.  It would truly be a travesty of justice if I didn't share her blog with you.  There are so many cards of hers that I want to CASE.  The dilemma now, I just have to figure out which one I want to do next!  :)

I used Apothecary Art for the sentiment.  There was very little inking on this card, other than the sentiment and some light sponging around the edges to make the images pop.

Greenhouse Garden Thanks so Much

Greetings!

It has been so hot here the last couple of days.  We’re in the triple digits and it's been so hot that there have been lightning & thunder storms in the valley.  Yesterday it finally happened.  The desert area where we do a lot of fishing and hunting had sparked on fire.  The Owyhee Mountains is a gorgeous place, but high risk for fires because of the dryness and the heat.  There are still fires up there raging out of control.  Smoke is a haze all over the valley floor and access to the area has been closed off and residents have been evacuated.  It’s getting hotter and hotter, so I’m staying inside for the remainder of the day.  We have air conditioning, I’m going to enjoy it by golly!

My hubby & I picked up a mountain bike at a yard sale a few days ago, my grandson stays with us more than he’s at home and he just learned how to ride his bike.  I figure we could go for rides together AND I could get in shape, what a thought, huh?! 

Anyway, I’ve been surfing around on Pinterest, spending most of my online time there and it dawned on me that I had a few pics of my own sitting around that needed to be uploaded.

Grateful for You

This card was inspired in part by my daughter and, for the life of me, I cannot remember the creative person who originally created this card. 
I was feeling in a funk, totally uninspired and my daughter brought a challenge to me that I just couldn’t refuse.  She was to surf online via Pinterest and find a card that she wanted me to create.  It would then be my job to re-create the card.
Everything pretty much matches, with the exception of the sentiment and the shape of the sentiment.
Hey, at least it kept me busy for a while.

Up, Up, and Away Thank You–CASE

Greetings!

I fell in love with this card the very moment I saw it on Pinterest.  I loved the soft colors and the whole cartoon-y look of it.  I just absolutely LOVE the new in Colors Stampin’ Up! has come up with:
Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, and Baked Brown Sugar. 
With colors that beautiful, there are are going to be so many possibilities!  I can’t wait to get started.  The only problem…. what colors am I going to use first?!

For my first card, I chose Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding… along with ever faithful So Saffron and Whisper White.

Angel in Faux Etched Glass–Thank You Card–Dynamic Duo Challenge

Greetings!  I enjoyed making the faux etched glass so much on the last card, I thought I would do it again.  This time I did it on a tiny little Beveled Windowpane from Stampin’ Up!  They are long since discontinued and I use them VERY sparingly.
This is also a Dynamic Duo color challenge.  Hmmm Raspberry Ripple and Wysteria Wonder… together… on one card…. I should have had more faith.  While I putting this card together, I wasn’t very confident with how this would turn out.  I think it’ll work!  There are a lot of wonderful and creative examples of using the color combination.  Please be sure to stop by Dynamic Duo’s and take the challenge yourself!

And here is a close-up view.  I really hope it is clear enough.

Hi there!  I found myself looking through my colors and wandered how the colors So Saffron and Basic Black would look together.
Well, here you have it.  lol  After the card was finished I added some zing by lightly distressing Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint around the black cardstock.
