Get Well Soon

Bill has been feeling under the weather, so i made him a card hoping to boost his mood and help him feel better.

He is stage 4 Colon cancer. His current Oncologist told us we are at the end of the road,  that there is no more hope of trying any chemo therapies,  so we're not giving up,  we're going to a well respected Oncologist with St. Luke's this time. We'll see what develops.

Blessings and inky hugs;

Cowboy Get Well Soon - Bright Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge Entry

My current goal is to work on as many masculine cards as I can.  There's nothing that says the colors can't be bright & cheerful?!  I spent most of the day with my Aunt Shirley.  I had such a pleasant peaceful feeling all day.  I'm so glad God gave me a day like today.  It was warm, in the 70's with a slight breeze.  Thankfully there were no bee's or wasps out.  My Aunt has cancer and has bravely accepted that her time is coming soon.  I have not yet reached the same understanding and would rather help her fight it all the way.  It breaks my heart to think of not having her in my life so I need to appreciate every moment I have with her.  Maybe that's why I felt so good today?  ")

After I've finished this card, I thought the stamped images went well with the theme.  You know, get well soon, as in "get back in the saddle again"!!!

This is also a Stamping 411 Saturday Sketch Challenge that I'm submitting.  Here is the sketch, my entry is below the sketch.

Autumn Days Get Well Soon with Bi-Lingual Sentiment

Good afternoon Stampers!

I am really behind the gun on the cards I've been creating ('magine that!).  But you know my usual line, if the Mojo's flowin' I'm not stoppin'!  So, as you may imagine, my creativity has slowed down to a dull thud so I figured this would be a good time to get cards uploaded, labeled, tagged, and all that other stuff before my mind starts to wander on a new card idea.

So, these two cards are going to be posted together.  They are pretty much the same, but you all know how I can't stand to re-create something that I've already created.  If you make several cards with the same design, your not being creative and someone is going to get ripped off because they thought they were buying / receiving a truly unique card.  If they see another card just like theirs, they may gasp and wander if you just picked the card off a rack that was spit out by a machine!  agad!!!!!!!!  How awful would that be?!  Anyway, God gives me the gift, I'm not going to waste it on making the same thing again.  Some may, but my passion for paper crafting and creating keeps me going.  Even though I tried to make these cards both the same, they are still unique in their own way (still couldn't make myself do it!)  Anyway, getting off my soap box.

These cards were created using the Autumn Days stamp set.  The Spanish sentiment is from the Frases por docena stamp set & the English sentiment is from the Mini Mates stamp set.  All other goodies used to make the card are located below under "Labels".

With sponge daubers I also sponged some chalk (Stampin' Pastels) for the sky & the ground.

I really hope I don't have to give these away right away or sell them to anyone who has to give them away, but it's always good to keep some on hand, especially the Masculine kind because we know how our guys need to feel pampered when they are sick!  Mine does, anyway.  hehehe

Getting Ready for Farmers Market

Good morning Stampers!

I am continuing to work on cards that will be up for sale at the Farmers Market in Nyssa on the 3rd Friday of August, the 19th!  Hopefully I'll do well as I got reports from people who attended the Thunder Egg Festival who said there were a lot of crafters selling their wares, but there were no greeting cards for sale in the whole place, so hopefully I'll have the market cornered!  Doubt it.  There were probably no greeting card stands at the Thunder Egg Festival for the same reason that I didn't have a table there.  75$!  Too rich for my blood!  What I really like about the Farmers Market is the charge is 10% of whatever I sell.  That is at least safe.  I won't be paying a fortune that I can't afford for people to come look through my cards with dirty fingers (I shudder to think of the idea)

Anyway, here are some more cards I have worked on:

Swap Cards Received

Yay! I love days when I get swapped cards in the mail. I have three of the 6 cards that I should be receiving so far. I signed up for Black and White + 1, Get Well Soon, & April Showers, which would include anything about rain, showers, golasha's, etc...

What is REALLY cool is that I received 2 from a wonderful lady from The Netherlands! I have never mailed anything outside of the united states & have never received anything from outside the United States (that I know of), so this is an extra special treat for me!

So, The first two cards are from Anita in The Netherlands...
This card is Black and White + 1:

And the second card from Anita is a Get Well Soon theme:

lol isn't that adorable?!  Chicken Soup with Quackers!  lol  I love it!  I'm sure it would get a chuckle from the recipeint if even for an instant.

The last card I have received so far is from Becky H from Auburn, Indiana
This card is so beautiful & creative!  I love the way she colored the butterfly in the image with colored Crystal Effects (I think that's how she did it).

So, that's about all I have for right now.  I have been working on some more cards, Its just a matter of snapping pictures & getting them uploaded.  I'm thinking it might be quicker & fewer steps if I actually just scan them and send them off that way.  I tried it for a while but for some reason I didn't keep doing it.  It's hard telling with me.

Anyway, stay posted, I'll be updating frequently!

God Bless you and thanks for stopping by!!
